BLF Update

Well-being in the East: Delivering a Healthy Active Future

Good news! The Big Lottery Fund invited us to submit a Stage 2 application for the Well-being Programme.

Due to the substantial number and scale of applications received, the level of funding which we could apply for was £3.5 million over three years. This is significantly less than our original Stage 1 bid, which was £16.3 million.

We had a very short period of time before early March 2007 in which to ask all our project bidders to be subjected to a rigourous assessment process to reduce the size of the portfolio.

We wrote to all projects who confirmed they wished to be included in Stage 2. The Steering Group had three meetings in January and February in which to lead the development of the Stage 2 application. The deadline for submission was originally 8 March 2007, although this was extended by the BLF to 22 March 2007. However we will not know the result until June/July 2007.

The portfolio bid was formally submitted within the deadline, please click here to read the submitted document.

Please see below for your information, the timeline which we have worked to, the Terms of Reference for the BLF Steering Group, and the scoring sheets and criteria which were used as a tool to discuss projects
